AT&T announces ZERO Charger, an eco-friendly charging solution for mobile phones which does not waste power when left plugged in, and indeed improves charging efficiency when powering a mobile device. So, it is an automatic zero draw charger, which the company claims to be the first in the world. ZERO Charger will be out in May.
Conventional chargers left plugged in, even when not actively charging, can draw as much as 5 to 20 times more energy than stored in the battery. So, they wastes electricity. The AT&T ZERO Charger works by automatically sensing when a mobile phone is not plugged up to the charger and cutting the power supply from the wall socket. So, this advanced, energy-saving charger can help you save energy.
The AT&T ZERO Charger has a 5-star efficiency rating. With a ‘block and cable’ design, the AT&T ZERO Charger offers maximum interchangeability by allowing the customers to use the same charger for future handsets. The charger will be sold in packaging with 100% recycled paper. ZERO Charger will be available in May, 2010, at AT&T stores nationwide. Cost will cost the same as existing replacement chargers
