Toshiba Storage Device Division (SDD) on Tuesday announced a new high-capacity, high-performance, power-efficient small form factor product line for enterprise applications. With top capacity at 600GB, the new MBF family of hard disk drive (HDD) represents the industry’s highest-capacity 2.5-inch enterprise-class HDD and features Toshiba’s first enterprise-class self-encrypting drive (SED) offering. Last week, Toshiba Corporation introduced a new line up of 1.8-inch HDDs with a maximum capacity of 320GB, the highest yet announced by the industry, targeted at thin and light mobile PCs and portable external hard disk drives.
