Google launches ‘Google Apps Reseller Program’

Google on Wednesday announced a reseller program for Google Apps Premier Edition. Under this new ‘Google Apps Authorized Reseller Program’, authorized resellers will be able to sell, customize and support premium versions of Google Apps, which includes Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sites, Google Talk, and Google Video for business.

AVG acquires ID theft prevention specialist Sana Security

Antivirus and Internet Security company AVG Technologies on Tuesday announced that it has acquired identity-theft prevention software maker Sana Security Inc. The transaction marks another successful milestone for AVG, as it continues to improve Internet security coverage for individuals and small businesses and expand its global footprint. Amsterdam-based AVG did not disclosed the amount involved in the deal but confirmed that the acquisition provides AVG with its first Silicon Valley office.

Microsoft releases Critical update for Internet Explorer

Microsoft on Wednesday released a patch for a critical security flaw in Internet Explorer that is being actively exploited via hacked websites. The vulnerability could exploit Javascript to allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted Web page using Internet Explorer. According to Microsoft, users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights.

Apple removes Antivirus Recommendation Note

Apple recommends use of Anti-Virus

This is for Mac users. Apple now recommends the use of anti-virus software for your online safety. Apple made this recommendation in the form of a note posted on it’s support site. The note, posted on November 21, says:
