Samsung has begun shipping samples of 40nm-class 32GB memory modules, the industry’s highest-density memory module for server systems. The 40nm-class, 32-Gigabyte memory module has been designed for use in advanced servers, which require high-density and high-performance features at low-power consumption levels. On Tuesday, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., announced that it has started the production of industry’s first volume production of 3-bit, multi-level-cell (MLC) NAND flash chips using 30-nanometer (nm)-class process technology at the end of November.
