Spritely is a light-weight script and is very easy to use. It requires only a few simple steps to create animated objects. It basically uses sprite() and pan() to animate the background-image CSS property of an element. The ‘sprite’ image contains two or more ‘frames’. On the other hand a ‘pan’ image contains a continuous image which pans left or right and then repeats. You can use Spritely on any html web page, and any part of the page can interact with a sprite. For example, the animated objects can also fly above the text of a web page or you could animate a background. Spritely has been tested successfully on all the major browsers and works even on Internet Explorer 6. It also works well on iPhone or iPod Touch. Try the demo and give it a try.
