After enabling users to use Gmail offline, Google has added another cool feature to it’s popular email service. And this time it is Multiple Inboxes, which will enable users to have more than one ‘inbox’ in their default Gmail view.

Why you may need more than one inbox? Well, you may need this feature to quickly search through filtered mails and view them from a single page. Or you may want to keep your drafts visible in an extra panel. With this new feature, currently you can add upto four extra panels to your default Gmail view.
The Multiple Inboxes feature is a Labs experiment and you can enable it from the “Labs” tab of your Gmail “Settings” section. After activating this ‘Labs’ feature, you can configure what you want to see, as well as set the number of messages displayed and the positioning of your panels from the new “Multiple Inboxes” tab on your “Settings” page. The allowed positions for extra panels are right side of the inbox, above the inbox and below the inbox. Give it a try!
