Dell today announced the launch of Latitude XT2, industry’s first multitouch tablet PC. Latitude XT2’s multitouch feature will allow users to use natural gestures like a pinch or tap for scrolling, panning, rotating and zooming that work with productivity applications they use every day. It means, with XT2, users can now put aside their mouse and opt to use their fingers or a stylus.

XT2 comes with a cool daylight viewable 12.1″ Premium WXGA (1280×800) LED Display (Wide View). It is powered by either Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 or SU9400 processor and for operating system there are four options on Windows XP and Vista. It also comes pre-loaded with the tools you need including: the latest Intel vPro processors for remote management, comprehensive security features and Dell ProSupport6 Mobility Services. Latitude XT2 will give up to 11 hours, 28 minutes of battery life1 with six cell battery and optional 6-cell battery slice.
Some other features of Latitude XT2 includes LCD-based wireless antenna design, full-size keyboard, touchpad, point stick, battery-free pen, optional smart card reader and optional mobile broadband capabilities. XT2’s dimension is 11.7″ x 8.7″ x 1.1″ (297×220.6×27.4mm) and it weighs just 3.62lbs (1.64 kg) with 4-cell battery and 3.78lbs (1.72 kg) with 6-cell battery.
