Apple recommends use of Anti-Virus

Dec 2, 2008

This is for Mac users. Apple now recommends the use of anti-virus software for your online safety. Apple made this recommendation in the form of a note posted on it’s support site. The note, posted on November 21, says:

“Apple encourages the widespread use of multiple antivirus utilities so that virus programmers have more than one application to circumvent, thus making the whole virus writing process more difficult.”

Apple Recommends Anti-Virus

This step is thought to be a response to the increasing threats from malicious programs. In the note, Apple recommended Intego VirusBarrier X5, Symantec Norton Anti-Virus 11 for Macintosh and McAfee VirusScan for Mac.

Mac OS is virtually free from security threats, if we compare it with Windows. But, better safe than sorry, if you are using Mac OS, we think that you must get one good anti-virus software. What you say?
