Apple launches Safari 4 Beta

Apple on Tuesday announced the first public beta of it’s Safari 4 web browser. With this launch Apple claims Safari 4 is the world’s fastest browser with its new Nitro JavaScript engine which executes JavaScript up to 30 times faster than Internet Explorer 7 and loads HTML Web pages up to 3 times faster than Internet Explorer 7.

Some new features of Safari 4 includes top sites, cover flow, history search, tabs on top, nitro engine, windows native look and feel, full-page zoom, developer tools, phishing and malware protection etc. The top sites features will enable you to see your favorite websites at a glance and open them with a single click, while with the help of cover flow feature will can flip through your site history or bookmarks just like you flip through albums in iTunes. With Safari 4 you can easily create and manage tabs. Tabs offer a great way to have multiple pages open at the same time in a single browser window. Even you can drag and drop tabs.

Apple claims that Safari 4 is the fastest web browser in the world. It is using new Nitro Engine, which for example, executes JavaScript up to 30 times faster than Internet Explorer 7 and more than 3 times faster than Firefox 3 based on performance in leading industry benchmark tests: iBench and SunSpider.

For Windows users Safari now features a native look, just like other Windows applications, including a native title bar, borders, and toolbars. Safari also comes with a bunch of developer tools which can help developers in examining the structure of a page, debug JavaScript, optimize performance and compatibility, inspect offline databases, or test experimental pieces of code on the fly. Other features of Safari 4 includes full-page zoom, smart address field, smart search field, Phishing and Malware Protection.
