Huawei Technologies (“Huawei”), a Chinese telecommunications company, announced its first Android-powered smart phone at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The new smart phone will be commercially available in the third quarter of 2009.
Details about the new smart phone is net yet available, but according to a press release, Huawei partnered with an established design consultancy to develop a robust and user-friendly interface, creating a powerful customer experience that is able to evolve with operators’ differentiation requirements.

Software giant Microsoft have announced a reward of $250000 to anyone who gives information leading to the arrest and conviction of the creator of the Conficker worm. The reward is for “information that results in the arrest and conviction of those responsible for illegally launching the Conficker malicious code on the Internet,” the software giant said in a statement.

Two communication satellites from the US and Russia have collided in space. This first of it’s kind space satellite collision took place on Tuesday, about 800 kilometers above Siberia. The US satellite is owned by Satellite phone service provider Iridium, while the other satellite is said to be a non-functional Russian satellite.

Microsoft on Tuesday said it has just recorded its 10,000th U.S. patent, which is related to technology used in its Surface computing platform.
